An award-winning young designer will be graduating at Hull City Hall next week.

Daniel Powell travelled to Berlin last month to receive his Young Designer of the Year award at TiLE (Trends in Leisure and Entertainment), a leading forum for the museum and exhibition sector.

His success made it a hat-trick of wins for the Museum and Exhibition Design course at the Hull School of Architecture - Paul Innes from North Ferriby was the winner in 2000 and last year Jamie Hickson from Glasgow picked up the award.

His winning entry was a design for an exhibition stand for guitar maker Ibanez.

I entered my final-year project which was I thought it would be an exciting thing to do as I had to do quite a lot of research into the firm, he explained.

Daniel (22) has now completed his degree at the University of Lincoln and will graduate at Hull City Hall on Tuesday 30th July at 11.30am.

The Museum and Exhibition Design degree course at the Hull School of Architecture is the only one of its kind and attracts students from all over the world.
