A campaign to train Hull people up for a career in social work or social care will be showcased at a special event next week.
The Grow Your Own campaign is a partnership between Kingston-upon-Hull City Council, Connexions Humber, Hull College, East Riding College (Beverley), the University of Hull and the University of Lincoln.
Local people who are considering a career in social work or social care are invited to attend a special Grow Your Own event at the Guildhall next Wednesday (29th May).
“The event is designed to promote social work and social care as a positive career choice,” explained Janet Walker, who teaches Social Work at the Cottingham Road campus of the University of Lincoln.
“The evening will provide visitors with an opportunity to hear about what’s involved and to get useful information about the career.”
The event will be staged from 6.30pm to 9pm at the Guildhall on Wednesday 29th May.
The University of Lincoln’s Social Work provision is due to relocate to Hull city centre in September 2003, where it will form part of the new Hull School of Health and Social Care.
