Fine Art Graduates from the Hull School of Art and Design are reuniting this month to create FOURWARD, an exhibition that aims to inject more art into Hull.

The exhibition is the brainchild of Esther Ainsworth and Ben Smith, both 23, who graduated from the University of Lincoln in Hull last summer.  In a reunion with fellow 2001 Fine Art graduates the exhibition will promote the work they have produced since leaving university.

“The FOURWARD exhibition will feature printing, sculpture, digital media and sound based media,” said organiser Esther Ainsworth who is originally from Rotherham.  “Approximately 20 people will be showing work and the exhibition will hopefully be varied and appealing.”

The team have gathered a lot of local support for the exhibition.  Sponsors include Hull City Arts, Red Gallery and Hull Time Based Arts.  Hull City Council are funding the event.

The exhibition will be held from Wednesday 20th March until Wednesday 27th March at Quay House, Waterhouse Lane in Hull.

On opening night the exhibition will be from 6pm till 9pm.  Admission and drinks will be free and the night will include a one-off live series of video screenings, performances and installations.

The team are hoping to attract local interest as well as interest from people in the Art community.  “The exhibition has been built entirely our own initiative and we are hoping to increase interest in our work,” said Esther.  “We are hoping FOURWARD will increase recognition for Hull-based artists.”
