RUNNERS TO TACKLE POLICE CROSS-COUNTRY COURSE

 

A cross-country race to be staged on Thursday by Lincolnshire Police will take runners through farmland at Riseholme Park, part of the University of Lincoln.

 

The Lincolnshire Police Cross Country Race, which will begin at 2.30pm on 24th January 2002 near Police Headquarters in Nettleham, is contested by Armed Forces personnel, mostly from the RAF in Lincolnshire & Cambridgeshire.

 

But guest runners are also welcome to take part they should arrive at Police Headquarters by 2pm to attend a briefing in the gymnasium at 2.15pm.

 

Between 60 and 80 runners are expected to compete in the race, which will take place over farm and college land six miles for men and four miles for women.

 

There is limited parking at Police Headquarters and the race venue, although the race start is only a five-minute jog from headquarters. Changing facilities will be available in the gymnasium at Police Headquarters and refreshments will be available at the finish of the race.
