STUDENT GETS A SENSE OF ADVENTURE

 

Rolling down a hill in a plastic ball, sky-diving and white water rafting are all just in a day’s work for Doncaster student Dale Hutchinson.

 

Dale, 20, who studies at Cottingham Road, has just finished making his first video for the web-based adventure company Joe Browns, based in Farsley, near Leeds.

 

The third-year Media Technology student at the University of Lincoln in Hull has agreed to produce up to ten advertising videos lasting three minutes long to promote the company’s adventure themed days.

 

“We spend one day with the crew and film the best parts,” said Dale.  “It’s good to see the final product and we look forward to producing more videos for the company.”

 

The videos count towards the students’ final-year individual projects, which are accountable for 100% of their mark.  The media technology course is to be moved to the newly refurbished city centre campus in September 2003.   

 

The student’s next video project is an adventure day based in Kent called ‘zorbing’.  This event involves two people being strapped into a big transparent plastic ball and sent rolling down a hillside.
