Lincolnshire’s late night listeners are being entertained each weekend by a University of Lincoln student who has his own live show.

Media Production student Matthew Barrett (21) from Norwich, is the presenter of a late night music show on Lincs FM.

The show is broadcast every Saturday from 1am to 5am and is a mixture of music, chat and competitions to keep listeners entertained throughout the night.

Matthew has presented the show since November last year after sending a demo tape into the station which impressed management.

Having studied Media Production at the university for three years, Matthew brings a wide range of skills and knowledge to the show. He is due to graduate next summer and would like to pursue his career in radio.

“I’ve always wanted to get into radio,” said Matthew. “Working for Lincs FM is great – the station’s really professional and it’s good being able to work on one of the few independent local radio stations left in the country.”

Director of programming Jane Hill said: “We’re really committed to developing new talent so we’re delighted to give Matthew a chance to present his own programme on the region’s number one radio station.”
