The 800 freshers who arrived at the University of Lincoln’s Cottingham Road campus on Sunday are having an unforgettable Freshers’ Week.
Organisers at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside’s Students’ Union were determined to give them the best flavour of student life in Hull and have succeeded by putting together a series of exciting events with support from local businesses and organisations.
Today’s Freshers’ Fair, one of the highlights of Freshers’ Week, gave students the opportunity to find out about the university and what Hull has to offer as student city.
“The fair gives students the chance to get to know Hull’s pubs, clubs and businesses before they settle into student life,” commented Andy Ranyard, ULHSU Deputy President.
“The week’s events have been a great success so far, and we’ve had lots of interest from local businesses keen to capture the attention of the new students. It just proves that the Cottingham Road campus is still a great place to study.”
Throughout the rest of the week, [insert comma] which finishes on Sunday 23rd September, students will get the chance to lose their inhibitions at karaoke nights, live band nights, DJ nights, pub crawls and popcorn parties – the latest craze from Ibiza – as well as finding out what the university has to offer in terms of clubs and societies.
Student-focused businesses and organisations still interested in capturing the attention of Hull’s new students should contact the Students’ Union on 01482 464800
