FRESHERS’ FORTNIGHT FESTIVITIES TO HIT LINCOLN

Over a thousand new first-year students due to arrive this weekend at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside are in for an unforgettable fortnight of freshers’ fun.

Pub Olympics, a toga party, a bad taste pub crawl, a Madonna tribute night and a visit from the Patak’s curry bus are just some of the Freshers’ Fortnight events which have been organised by the Students’ Union Co-operative in Lincoln for the 1,200 freshers expected on campus.

The Patak’s curry bus will be giving free tastings on campus, Indian head massages and henna tattoos and the Freshers’ Fayre, which is always a big success, will give students the chance find out what big name businesses such as Odeon, Virgin and Burtons have to offer.

“We’ve planned a wide range of fun events from calm to crazy so there’s something for everyone,” said ULHSU Vice-President (Communications) Charlie Walmsley.

“And the events are also really good value for money.

“We decided on a fortnight of events this year so that first-years get the chance to mingle with our second and third-year students who come back on 24th September and because the events were so popular last year.”

Lincoln’s campus radio station Siren FM will also be live on air at the Freshers’ Fayre on 87.9FM.
