A Lincoln professor has joined an elite band of academics by becoming a member of the council of the National Conference of University Professors.
Prof Hassan Hassan, Director of the Lincolnshire Institute for Health at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside, joins 13 other members on the council of the NCUP, which represents university professors across the UK.
“I’m delighted to have been asked to join the council,” said Prof Hassan, who joined the university in April having been head of Biomedical Science and Professor of Oncology at the University of Wolverhampton.
“It’s good news for Lincoln that one of its professors has become a member of the council of this influential organisation.”
Prof Hassan, who will serve as a council member for three years, is hoping to be able to host an NCUP workshop on PhD supervision at the university’s Lincoln campus in the spring of 2002.
Other members of the NCUP council include Prof Eric Billett of Brunel University, Prof Peter Henderson of Leeds University and Prof Gavin Reid of St Andrew’s University.
