The 800 freshers expected to arrive at the University of Lincoln’s Cottingham Road campus next month are in for a memorable week.
Organisers at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside’s Students’ Union are determined to give them the best flavour of student life in Hull with a series of exciting events and support from local businesses and organisations.
Freshers’ Week will run from 16th to 23rd September and feature a Freshers’ Fair on Tuesday 18th September from 10am to 4pm in a huge marquee on campus where students can find out about the university and what Hull has to offer as student city.
“The fair gives students the chance to get to know Hull’s pubs, clubs and businesses before they settle into student life,” commented Andy Ranyard, ULHSU Deputy President.
“Several local businesses have already signed up for the fair but we are looking to broaden the range of businesses involved,” added Alan Wilson, ULHSU Vice President for Sport and Recreation.
Throughout the week students will get the chance to lose their inhibitions at karaoke nights, live band nights, DJ nights, pub crawls and popcorn parties – the latest craze from Ibiza – as well as finding out what the university has to offer in terms of clubs and societies.
Student-focussed businesses and organisations interested in capturing the attention of Hull’s new students should contact the Students’ Union on 01482 464800
