Psychology teachers in the region are to network and develop their curriculum knowledge and research skills at a university forum next week.

Secondary teachers from Lincolnshire and parts of Yorkshire and the Humber are invited to attend the two-day forum to be held at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside’s Lincoln campus on 12th and 13th July.

The objectives of the forum according to Dr Jon Slack, Head of the university’s Department of Psychology, are to establish a network of local psychology teachers, to develop a forum for discussing teaching issues, to provide a resource for psychology teachers and to provide access to a research community.

“The conference is all about widening access to higher education through creating a network between the teaching profession and the university,” he commented.

Subjects to be discussed at the conference include child psychology and cognitive development, connections between language and space, UCAS applications, connections between philosophy and psychology and teaching effective revision skills.
