Three outstanding designers will graduate with first-class honours from the pioneering Interactive Multimedia degree course at the Hull School of Art and Design next week.

Hull student Lucy King (27) of Grafton Street, Greek student Alexandros Charalampidis (23) from Thessaloniki and Martin Millar (22) from Lurgan, County Armagh, will all be at Hull City Hall on Thursday 26th July 2001 to receive their degrees.

BA (Hons) Interactive Multimedia was launched at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside in 1997 and focuses on electronic or ‘new’ media - the future of design.

Staff and students on the programme have forged close links with Kingston Interactive Television, which sponsors the students’ final-year degree show in the city.

“It’s good news that we have forged such a strong link with KIT, a high- profile company in the region,” said award co-ordinator Sarah Humphreys.

KIT’s public relations manager Tony Barker commented: “We aim to support excellence in interactive design so we are always on the look out for fresh new creative input.”

Students on the programme this year worked with KIT to re-design the Local Link, the company’s guide to community information, on-demand news, shopping and services.

Photographers are welcome to attend the ceremony at Hull City Hall, which begins at 11.30am on Thursday 26th July.
