A Lincoln Media Production student who graduated today is to launch his broadcasting career working for an international satellite distribution company.

Chris Clarke, (21) from Immingham, who gained a 2:1 in Media Production at the University of Lincoln, will start work at Satellite Information Systems (SIS) on 25th July.

SIS is Europe’s largest independent provider of satellite uplinks and does outside broadcasting for Sky Sports. The company’s headquarters are in London but Chris will work as part of their broadcast services in Nottingham whilst continuing to live in Lincoln.

Chris began applying for jobs in February in the hope of finding employment in the very competitive media production industry.

“I decided to send SIS video footage of my university coursework rather than a portfolio so that I would stand out from the crowd,” he said

“After the interview, I was able stay and look around.  I think they were really impressed by my knowledge of the equipment which I gained on the degree course,”

Chris added.
