A Lincoln student has beaten off the competition and landed his dream job – marketing a university college in York - well before he graduates in Lincoln on 17th July.

Adam Mitchell (23), from Grantham, was snapped up after he finished his degree by York St John College - part of the University of Leeds - to be their schools and colleges liaison officer. He is now responsible for marketing the institution to schools and colleges across the UK.

Adam is still surprised at how quickly things have progressed. One minute he was finishing his degree, the next he was doing an interview presentation.

“I have always wanted to work in higher education as opposed to working in a product environment,” said Adam.  “I feel that education is something that’s really worth marketing.”

Adam studied BA (Hons) International Relations in Lincoln and felt that this gave him the confidence he needed for his new job, along with his experience as a ULH student ambassador which involved giving lectures to parents and prospective students at open days, higher education fairs and going out to schools and colleges.

He will graduate at Lincoln Cathedral on Tuesday 17th July at 11:30am.
