‘QUIRKY’ ILLUSTRATIONS ARE QUITE CONTRARY

Three talented illustrators who have just graduated from Central St Martin’s College of Art and Design in London will show their work in Hull for three weeks from Saturday (16th June).

The exhibition ‘Quite Contrary’ at the EICH (European Illustration Collection Hull) Gallery on George Street features the mixed media work of Sarah Godfrey, Frances Gennever and Emily Mitchell.

Described by gallery curator Kathie Jenkins as “quirky, weird and wonderful”, the illustrations will remain on show at the EICH Gallery - part of the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside – until Thursday 5th July.

“These are traditional hand-drawn illustrations and they’re about as far away from the computer as you can get,” said Kathie.

“They’re a bit like Edward Lear meets the Surrealists in a fairy story!”

The EICH Gallery will be open from Monday to Saturday from 10am until 4pm for the duration of the exhibition, to which entry is free.
