DEGREE IS NEXT STOP FOR FORMER BUS DRIVER

A Hull bus driver who studies computing at university has co-produced a new website for the bus company he works at.

David Hobson-Campbell (37) who studies BSc Hons Computing part-time at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside’s Cottingham Road campus has a new job at the East Yorkshire Motor Company.

Thanks to his new-found skills he’s now a full-time planning assistant at EYMC organising the region’s bus routes.

David was attracted into education after doing an ‘Introduction to the Internet’ course at ULH. which led to the degree course.

“I started studying in 1996 and I have to admit it has been hard juggling working and studying,” he said. “However the course is very flexible.”

“I am specialising in Internet technologies which is something I’ve always been interested in and it’s really useful in my work on the company’s website.”

The site - www.eyms.co.uk - has been accredited by the Institute of Logistics and Transport which has given David a great deal of confidence as he played a major part in its development.

“The best thing about working and being a student is that it benefits both me and the company,” he said.
