STUDENT SETS SIGHTS ON BBC LONDON LIVE

Media Production student Edward Dawes has always dreamed of a career with the BBC so he was delighted when he got offered a job with BBC London Live.

 

Edward (22) from Sutton Coldfield starts his new role as broadcast assistant for London’s regional TV, radio and on-line news station on 16th May. He will work on their on-line news and sports page writing news stories.

 

He studied BA (Hons) Media Production at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside followed by a postgraduate diploma in Print and Online Journalism and enjoyed four years of state-of-the-art facilities.

 

“Studying Media Production really helped me in my ambition to become a BBC journalist,” he said. “Staying on to do the postgraduate qualification was also really useful as it gave me the journalism qualifications I needed to get into the industry.

 

“Working for BBC London Live is a great opportunity for me - it’s always been my goal to work for the BBC in London and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

 

Edward’s ultimate career goal is to work for BBC Five Live Sport as he’s an avid sports fan. He spent time working on the sports desk at BBC Radio Derby during his degree.
