Liverpool supporters have a chance to get their hands on a strip signed by the Anfield stars…
Lifelong Liverpool fan Allison Cooper is raising money for two charities by running the Flora London Marathon and by selling the signed Liverpool strip by auction.
Last week she successfully completed the first leg of her fund-raising effort by finishing the London Marathon in four hours and 48 minutes.
Now Allison, who works as a production editor in the International Office at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside at Cottingham Road, aims to raise more cash by selling the signed kit by on-line auction on the university’s web site.
All the money raised will be divided equally between the Imperial Cancer Research Fund and Tommy’s Campaign, the charity which funds research into premature birth, stillbirth and miscarriage.
The shirt and shorts have been signed by Premiership stars including Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler, Emile Heskey, Sami Hyypia, Steve Gerrard and Gary McAllister.
To bid for the kit visit the university’s web site at www.lincoln.ac.uk, click on the ‘Bid for a signed kit’ banner and follow the on-screen instructions. Between now and the closing date (31st May 2001) the web page will display the current highest bid.
