Media Production students in Lincoln have supported Children’s Links, a charity which aims to improve the quality of children’s life experiences in Lincolnshire, by producing their promotional video.

The video was produced by final-year students from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside and is now used by the charity to promote their work in reaching out to the region.

“We had been looking at methods of promoting out-of-school childcare in the region so we were delighted when the students put forward the idea,” said Elaine Box, Chief Executive at Children’s Links.

Development team leader Sue Blakemore added: “The video is really useful as it showcases the work we have been doing with the region’s play schemes.”

The four students - Laura Mansell, Alistair Green, Jon Rowlands and Chris Roberts - got together last year to produce the video from footage they had taken. This involved them going out to play schemes across the county and interacting with children and staff to get the best possible footage.

“It’s great that we were able to do a project that is actually being used in the community,” said Laura Mansell. “We are due to graduate this year so we will be able to present the video at interviews.”
