A member of staff at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside is getting ready for the challenge of a lifetime when she runs the Flora London Marathon on 22nd April.

Allison Cooper, production editor at the university’s International Office in Hull, is taking part in the marathon in memory of colleagues and relatives who have suffered personal battles in recent months.

She aims to raise money for two charities: the Imperial Cancer Research Fund and Tommy’s Campaign, which funds research into the causes and preventions of premature births, still births and miscarriage.

“Running 26.2 miles is a real challenge for professionals let alone beginners,” said Allison. “ I have taken part in a Race for Life before (3 miles), but nothing of this scale. It will be really hard work, but I am absolutely determined to do it” she added.

Allison has already received a great deal of support from family and friends but still needs to raise more money so any sponsorship would be appreciated.

Please contact Allison on 01482 463817 if you would like to help her raise money for these very worthy charities.
