School pupils from Nottinghamshire will get an impression of what student life is all about when they visit the Cottingham Road campus of the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside next week.

Two hundred pupils from Mansfield, Hucknall and Sutton-in-Ashfield will take part in a series of ACE Days (Aiming for a College Education) which are designed to give school pupils a taste of how higher education works.

The taster days will feature a range of interactive workshops, including ‘Parlez vous français?’ and ‘You the student!’,  which aim to show the pupils that learning can be fun.

“We will be giving the pupils a chance to get their hands on the latest technology available at the university, and we hope to open their eyes to the opportunities higher education can offer,” commented Jacqueline Mayer, education liaison manager at the university.
