STUDENTS’ UNION CLUTCHES AT STRAW

Would-be chart band Straw will be the first act to play live at the Lincoln Students’ Union at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside.

The Bristol-based four-piece, who are set to release their first single for Columbia Records entitled ‘Sailing Off The Edge Of The World’, will play an acoustic set in the student bar in the university’s new sports centre this Thursday (18th January).

Supporting Straw will be Mutley and ULH student band Release. Doors open at 7pm to students and guests only – tickets £1.

Having toured the UK last year with Toploader, Straw will be supporting Reef on their first tour in 2001. This week’s gig is one of a series of acoustic sessions that will take the band to several universities across the country.

Straw have played on the Channel 4 show ‘TFI Friday’ and their music appears on the CD album accompanying the Channel 4 teenage soap ‘Dawson’s Creek’.
