CITIES HOST LEARNING LAUNCH

The Institute for Learning and Teaching has been launched at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside by vice chancellor Prof Roger King, who is also chair of ILT Council.

The ILT was set up as a result of recommendations from Lord Dearing’s 1997 report into higher education and aims to support all aspects of the sector. It is open to all those who teach in higher education or are involved in learning support.

Prof King, who played a key role in establishing the ILT, launched workshops at both the Hull and Lincoln campuses where presentations were made by ILT Membership Services Director Prof Sally Brown.

Prof Brown gave talks to staff on the institute’s role and encouraged them to support its work by signing up for membership.

The national launch of the ILT took place at York in June.

Lord Dearing visited ULH in October last year to open the £11 million Learning Resource and Media Production Centre at the Lincoln campus.
