An economics expert who was once one of the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s ‘six wise men’ will give a talk on the future economy of Humberside on Monday.


David Kern, chief economist and head of market intelligence at the Natwest Group, will give a lecture on ‘Global and UK Economic Prospects 2000 and Beyond: the Implications for Humberside’ at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside.


His talk, co-sponsored by the Hull Business School and the Natwest, will begin at 6.15pm at the Weighton Lecture Theatre on the university’s Cottingham Road campus.


Mr Kern holds an ecomics degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and is visiting professor of economics at both the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside and Nottingham trent University.


He is also a fellow of the UK Society of Business Economists, chairman of the society’s forecasting group and a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
