The city of Hull is bracing itself for an influx of 3,500 new first-year university students - and 1,500 of them have already arrived to take up places at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside.


Freshers Week organised by the ULH Students’ Union kicked off yesterday (Sunday) with an unofficial pub crawl and is now in full swing.


The full programme of events laid on for new first years at the university is as follows:

“Studying at university has its serious side, and it is going to be hard work for the majority of the students here in Hull,” said university spokesman Jez Ashberry.


“But we want our new first years to have a good time too, so the Students’ Union is getting them started with a week of fun events to help them get to know each other.”
