FRESHERS BLITZ HITS HULL
The city of Hull is bracing itself for an influx of 3,500 new first-year university students - and 1,500 of them have already arrived to take up places at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside.
Freshers Week organised by the ULH Students’ Union kicked off yesterday (Sunday) with an unofficial pub crawl and is now in full swing.
The full programme of events laid on for new first years at the university is as follows:
Mon 13 The Terry Brannigan Experience
Tue 14 Trip to York
Max Bloodaxe Viking Night
Wed 15 Sports Night
Thurs 16 Freshers’ Fair, Inglemire Sports Hall
Trip to Flamingoland
Hugh Lennon & Hypno Dog
Fri 17 Superscape + DJs
Sat 18 Sports and Societies Night
Sun 19 The GrassRoots
“Studying at university has its serious side, and it is going to be hard work for the majority of the students here in Hull,” said university spokesman Jez Ashberry.
“But we want our new first years to have a good time too, so the Students’ Union is getting them started with a week of fun events to help them get to know each other.”
