An exhibition covering the career of illustrator Mario Minichiello has gone on show at the EICH Gallery in Hull.

Mr Minichiello, who is currently head of the Department of Visual Communication at the University of Loughborough, has worked for the Guardian, the Financial Times, Time Out and the BBC and has also produced a series of  book illustrations.

His exhibition at the EICH (European Illustration Collection Hull) Gallery, part of the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside, covers his career during the late 1980s and the 1990s and will be on display until 12th January 2001.

A coachload of around 50 staff and students travelled up from the University of Loughborough to attend the opening of the exhibition on Monday, where Prof Peter Arnold, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Technology at ULH, spoke of the importance of this kind of collaboration between universities.

The display forms part of a research project funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Board which will also feature a web site to complement the work and a collection of papers discussing aspects of drawing as well as this exhibition.
