11th July 2000

Lincoln student Caroline Hendrie celebrated her degree success at the city’s cathedral this morning (Tuesday 11th July 2000).

A senior staff nurse at Lincoln County Hospital, Caroline (36) combined a full-time job and caring for her two children with her Health Studies degree course work at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside.

And she proved her capabilities earning a first-class honours degree at the university.

“I studied at the Open University before coming to Lincoln and I really wanted to further my career by taking a degree,” said Caroline, of St Margaret’s gardens, Lincoln.

“With two school-age children to look after it was a hard slog, but it’s definitely been worth it.”

An administrative error on the part of the university meant that unfortunately Caroline’s name was not included in the list of graduating student’s in today’s Lincolnshire Echo. The university wishes to apologise for the omission.
