Super-fit graduate Sarah Thornhill is looking for sponsors to help her raise more than £2,000 for disadvantaged children with a fundraising trek to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro.

To conquer the mountain Sarah will trek for six days through rainforest and savannah and across moorland ravines with 50 other people to raise money for the Youth Hostel Association’s Give Us a Break scheme.

Sarah, 24, who graduated from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside in 1997, now works in merchandising for Next in Leicester. She is looking for sponsorship from individuals and organisations.

For what she says is the biggest challenge of her life Sarah has pledged to raise £2,200 for the YHA which provides holidays at its hostels for youngsters from disadvantaged areas.

“Taking part in the trek will be a great challenge for me, but it is something I’ve always wanted to do,” said Sarah. “I am also running the London Marathon in April, so am confident that with all my training I will be fit enough to reach the top.”

At Next Sarah works in men’s shoes, selecting and buying stock for the stores nationwide and the Next Directory. She has worked for the company for two years.
