GRADUATE TAKES FIRST PLACE IN FILM AWARDS

A Bradford graduate is going on to the national finals of the Royal Television Society Student Video Awards after winning first place in the region for his film.

Chris Wall, of Carrbottom Road, Little Horton, is a graduate of TV & Film Design at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside.

On Monday evening at the RTS Yorkshire Centre in Wakefield, Chris, together with fellow graduate Chris Farrer, won the award for best non-factual film for ‘As a Child’. It was described by judges as a “well shot” film which captured their attention from the start and used a simple theme.

“The poetic script examined the relationship between landscape and memories of the past - the film had professional polish,” the judges added.

Harry Gration and Clare Frisby from BBC Look North presented the students with champagne and certificates. The film will now go forward to the national final of the competition at BAFTA in January.

ULH students have had great success in the RTS regional awards in the past, including graduate Emma Lazenby who won the animation section last year.
