An academic from the Hull Business School has been working on research into the effects and benefits of satellite television.

Campbell McPherson, a senior lecturer at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside, has been reviewing UK and European policy in relation to the current difficulty of policing satellite broadcasting.

As part of his research Mr McPherson has been interviewed by the BBC and has passed his findings on to the Metropolitan Police where it would help them with their own enquiries.

Mr McPherson has had his work published in a variety of specialist journals both at home and abroad, including the European Business Review and the Media Culture & Society Journal. He also lectured at the 35th International Broadcast Conference at Manchester University last year, on the controversial subject of privacy.
