BETTER ACCESS TO BOOKS SCHEME

Researchers and academics can now borrow books and materials from a number of universities in Yorkshire thanks to the setting up of a new scheme involving the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside.

The RIDING scheme entitles them to visit other universities and libraries that are taking part in the project and search remotely across RIDING member catalogues for books and other literature.

Academic staff and postgraduate research students are eligible for membership and can access resources at the universities of Hull, Bradford, Huddersfield, Leeds, Leeds Metropolitan, Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam and York.

The scheme will be particularly helpful for those students living a long way from the university’s Hull and Lincoln campuses who will benefit from easier access closer to home.

Libraries involved in the scheme are Leeds Library and Information Service and the British Library Document Supply Centre.
