The Director of Human Resources at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside became the newest member of staff herself as she got to grips with her first day in the job.
Anne Martin, from West Yorkshire, is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Freeman of the City of London and a member of the Institute of Personnel Management.
The Strathclyde Hotel School graduate began her career working in personnel and training for the Ladbroke Group of hotels, casinos and betting divisions.
She then joined the Mars Group in Slough as training and customer services manager in the Marketing Department – going on to work as export market manager for the Klix in-cup drinks system.
As Director of Human Resources Anne will look after the interests of 962 members of staff at the university.
“I’m very excited about my new role,” said Anne, who lives with her partner in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.
“This will be my first time supplying a service in education, although, as an HR manager I’ve been involved in buying education’s ‘product’ for many years.”
Anne held the post of Chief Executive of a Training and Enterprise Council before joining Co-operative Retail Services in 1996 as general manager, HR and in that role led a major change in management and the organisation of the company.
