A 140-strong film crew and tonnes of production equipment will arrive at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside on 23rd August to prepare for filming of the new romantic movie Possession starring Gwyneth Paltrow.

In the film, adapted from the book by AS Byatt, Paltrow plays an academic researching the life of poet Randolph Ash. The university is to be used as the backdrop for the modern-day scenes.

Possession, which won the 1990 Booker Prize, will be released in the US in the Autumn of next year - details of her big name co-stars have yet to be confirmed.

Setting up the cameras and masses of other equipment, including Ms Paltrow’s 55-foot trailer, will take six days, with filming beginning in the Media Production and Learning Resource Centre on Tuesday 29th August.

Locations for filming scenes which will feature Paltrow include the third floor of the LRC, the Atrium in the main academic building and the two lifts.

But onlookers will be disappointed - the film’s production company are likely to use a closed set with no opportunities to catch a glimpse of the Oscar-winning star.
