Two members of staff from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside have won book tokens for taking part in a student survey of how the university could better respond to their needs.

The Staff Development Unit based in Hull was chosen as a market research project for a team of four European Marketing students who distributed questionnaires to staff asking them what courses the unit could offer to help improve their skills.

Phil Wade, Jennifer Thorne, Rachel Utteridge and Minna Vahala offered two £25 book tokens in a competition to get staff to return the questionnaires.

Winners were Jonathan Gaze from the university’s exams office and administrative assistant Beth Featherstone from the Engineering Department.

The SDU offers staff a package of seminars every year on topics such as spreadsheets, presentation skills and the latest computer software. The students’ report was presented to the SDU for consideration to see how the research can be used to improve what’s on offer.
