STUDENTS JOIN FIGHT AGAINST CRIME

A Scunthorpe student is helping Lincolnshire police in their drive to crack down on crime - by joining the special constabulary.

Jenny Bristow from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside signed up in 1998 and has been involved in almost all aspects of police work in the city.

Twenty-year-old Jenny is hoping her hectic schedule of pounding the beat as well as studying hard for her Law and Criminology degree is giving him the experience he will need to join the regular police force when he graduates next year.

Originally from Garthorpe, near Scunthorpe, Jenny works in much the same way as a regular officer but as a special constable she is always accompanied on her shifts.
