A student production company can now fund its final project thanks to a cash injection from Debenhams.

The £200 donation will cover the cost of making a programme on careers on retail called ‘Step On’ at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside’s Media Production Centre.

Debenhams was one of very few companies who replied to the many letters sent out by the four members of the ‘Are We All In’ student production company. The cash will pay for the set, props and expenditure on extra equipment needed for the final-year students’ production.

Lincs FM disc jockey Ed Bretton will present part of ‘Step On’, which will focus on school-leavers and graduates getting in retail.

This week’s filming is the final part of the project which has been in the pipeline for a year.

“We’re really grateful to Debenhams for showing an interest in our project and for helping us bring it to fruition with this cash donation,” said company member Shauna Swift, aged 21.

The other members of the team are Leon Charlesworth, Adrian Bell and James Mountain.
