A statement by Prof Roger King, Vice Chancellor

University of Lincolnshire & Humberside

We wish to correct the inaccurate article and headline which appeared on page one of today’s edition of the Lincolnshire Echo.

The University of Lincolnshire & Humberside does not owe £3 million to Lincolnshire County Council.

We understand that a sum of that amount is owed to the county council by the project company, The Project for a University for Lincolnshire, which is a wholly different and separate organisation.

As a matter of fact, this university itself loaned £3 million to the project company to help facilitate the construction of the Lincoln university campus. This loan has now been largely repaid.

There has never been any loan made by Lincolnshire County Council to the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside.

PROF ROGER KING

VICE CHANCELLOR

UNIVERSITY OF LINCOLNSHIRE & HUMBERSIDE
