8th February 2000

School pupils from Brigg will be on campus at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside tomorrow (Wednesday 9th February) to find out more about higher education in the region.

The highlight for the youngsters will be the opportunity to make their own news programmes using the cutting-edge facilities at the university’s Media Production Centre.

Fifty year-nine pupils from the Sir John Nelthorpe School in Brigg will be on campus in Lincoln from 10.15am until 2.15pm tomorrow to talk to students about life at university.

They will also be going out and about conducting interviews for news broadcasts which they will put together with the help of Media Production students at the university.

“Tomorrow’s event is just one of a series designed to give school pupils a realistic idea of what goes on at university,” said Jacqueline Mayer of the education liaison team at ULH.

“We hope that this day out at university will be an eye-opening experience which will inspire these pupils to aim for higher education when they leave school.”
