School pupils from Mansfield will be given an idea of what student life is all about when they visit the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside next week.

Two hundred and fifty pupils from Meden School, Sherwood Hall School, Manor School and Garibaldi School will take part in a series of ACE Days (Aiming for a College Education) which are designed to give school pupils a taste of how higher education works.

The taster days at both the Lincoln and the Hull campuses will feature a range of interactive ‘lessons’ - from language learning to tourism - which aim to show the pupils that learning can be fun.

“The day will be spent showing the youngsters how enjoyable life is at university,” commented the schools liaison manager Ann Spencer. “The pupils will be using the latest technology to sample mock lessons, and we hope that it will open their eyes a little bit to the opportunities higher education can offer.”

The programme of ACE Days at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside is part-funded by the North Nottinghamshire TEC.
