School pupils from Newark will be given an idea of what student life is all about when they visit the Cottingham Road campus of the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside next week.

Fifty year 10 pupils from Grove School will take part in an ACE Day (Aiming for a College Education) on Friday 21st January which is designed to give school pupils a taste of how higher education works.

The taster day will feature interactive language ‘lessons’ showing the pupils that learning can be fun.

“The day will be spent showing the youngsters how enjoyable life is at university,” commented the schools liaison manager Ann Spencer. “The pupils will be using the latest technology to sample mock lessons, and we hope that it will open their eyes a little bit to the opportunities higher education can offer.”

The programme of ACE Days at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside is part-funded by the North Nottinghamshire TEC.
