8th November 1999

Campus pride will be at stake on Wednesday (10th November) when the sports teams of the Lincoln and Humberside campuses of the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside meet.

Students from Hull will travel down to Lincoln for first and second XI football, women’s football, women’s netball and men’s hockey fixtures in the BUSA (British Universities Sports Association) Halifax Domestic Championship.

“The football teams will be playing in the big grudge match,” commented Ruth Regan, Students’ Union Vice-President for Sports and Recreation. “We played a friendly at the start of the season, and while the Lincoln first team lost the seconds drew and the thirds won.

“So it’s a return match, but there are points at stake this time round! Everyone will be playing to win - this is about more than just football.”

The football matches kick off at 2.30pm at Ruston Marconi, the netball begins at 1.15pm at Washingborough School and the hockey players bully off at 3.30pm at Sincil Bank.
