Students returning to university in Hull next week will have a surprise when they walk into the Students’ Union building.

The University of Lincolnshire & Humberside has invested £60,000 in a complete refurbishment of the union bar, with a new bistro area and modernisation of all facilities.

Ready for the students’ arrival on Wednesday (15th September) the new-look bar will soon include a large screen TV for sports matches. The union shop has also undergone a refit and a new office has been created for clubs and societies to work on their projects.

Students’ Union manager David Williams is delighted with the work. “The refurbishment is a major improvement to union facilities in Hull and demonstrates our commitment to ensuring students have a great time at ULH outside of their studies.”

The new bar has a capacity of 500, encouraging local bands such as Superscape, a student group who will be the first to play in the new surroundings next week.

Food served in the new bistro will go beyond the usual burger and chips and now offers students a wider choice with healthy and organic food on the menu.
