CITY PLAYERS MEET UNI SPORTS FANS

Lincoln City football stars will meet sports teams from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside on Thursday to strengthen a special partnership.

The visit is a prequel to Saturday’s game between Lincoln and Exeter at Sincil Bank which the city’s students can attend free of charge, thanks to a sponsorship deal.

All Lincoln campus students have to do is turn up before 3pm and bring their National Union of Students card to see Lincoln City play alongside thousands of supporters.

Students’ Union sports officer Ruth Regan has arranged Thursday’s visit to give members of the university’s football and hockey teams the chance to meet 12 of City’s players.

“It’s a meet and greet get-together and we will be pleased to welcome Lincoln City onto the campus,” said Ruth.

The university sponsors Lincoln City Football Club as part of the Football in the Community, a national campaign run at a local level by the club to get children involved in the sport.

Among the host of benefits, City’s physiotherapist gives 50 sports injury sessions free of charge and students are admitted to matches at cheap rates throughout the season.
