A top graphic design student from Harrogate is looking forward to a career in graphic design after a phenomenally successful final year at university.

Philip Martin (22) will graduate next week with a first-class honours degree in Graphic Design from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside.

To add to his success Philip, of Kingsley Drive, Harrogate, also scooped two prizes during his final year on top of his first-class honours.

He won a digital camera for work which was used at an ‘Imaging in Business’ seminar at the university’s Lincoln campus, and he also won £100 for a logo which he designed for the new Tickety Boo cafe bar in Hull.

“I was over the moon when I saw my result,” said Philip. “It was a complete surprise - we were all very excited when we opened our envelopes, and when I opened mine I thought - oh blimey! I’ve got a first!

“I’ve had a brilliant time at ULH - the course is really good and it seems to be going from strength to strength.”

Philip will collect his degree certificate at Hull City Hall at 2.15pm on Wednesday 21st July.
