Studying a language to degree level can really take you places as graduate Sarah Smith from Measham in Derbyshire discovered at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside.

Twenty-one-year-old Sarah who has now graduated from the European Tourism programme has scored a job as a representative with the Thomson holiday company in Spain and will soon be putting her language skills to the test.

Starting the degree course with A-levels but only a GCSE in Spanish, Sarah did very well to keep up with the other students and her hard work has now paid off.

Languages lecturer Andy Daglish said: “Sarah is a great example of how you can get work abroad having started with just a bit of language under your belt.”
