9th June 1999

Careers advisors from all over the UK will have a chance to size up the facilities at the Lincoln campus of the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside on Friday (11th June 1999).

The university’s education liaison department has organised a free open day for careers officers to look round the campus and the student village - and they will also be able to talk to academics about the teaching programmes on offer.

“It will be an opportunity for careers advisors to get valuable information to enable them to advise students in the most accurate way possible,” said education liaison manager Ann Spencer.

“Like them, we want to ensure that students taking their A-levels this summer make  appropriate higher education choices.”

Ms Spencer said it was important for careers advisors working in schools, colleges and local authorities to keep abreast of developments at the UK’s newest university campus.

“We’re very keen that influencers should gain first-hand knowledge of the subjects available and the constantly developing facilities here at the university in Lincoln,” she said.

The event is free but those wishing to attend should inform the university’s marketing department by telephoning 01522 886223 or 886046.
