Exchange visits for research purposes between a Hungarian institution and the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside will now be possible thanks to a British Council grant.

Dr Anne Morris and Dr Peter Smith, from the Food Research Centre, have been awarded funding to embark on research into innovative ways of improving fruit juice over the next three years with academics from the University of Szeged and the Central Food Research Institute of Budapest.

A series of exchange visits will allow joint research on the different technologies which could be used to improve the quality of fruit juice and reduce the amount of energy wasted in the process.

The grant from the British Council Hungarian-British Intergovernmental Co-operation Programme is the latest in a series of funding awarded over the years to Drs Morris and Smith for their research work.
