LAWYERS TO LOOK INTO HUMAN RIGHTS

Lawyers from all over the UK will take the opportunity to get the lowdown on the new Human Rights Act at a seminar to be held in Lincoln later this week.

The seminar is being staged jointly at the university campus on Thursday (20th May) by Justice and the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside.

The half-day seminar will look at the impact of the Human Rights Act 1998 on criminal law, family law and employment law and how it will alter legal practice for a great many lawyers in the UK.

Speakers will include Jonathan Cooper of Justice, criminal law barrister Quincy Whitaker and family law barrister Stewart Leech.

The seminar begins at 3.30pm and will end at 9pm.
