A media lecturer has been awarded £5,000 to develop an interactive CD-ROM with a supernatural theme.

John Holden from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside beat off stiff competition to gain funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Board for his research project ‘Eyes Only’.

When complete the CD-ROM will provoke debate on the subject of UFO phenomena giving information on sightings and propounding the latest theories.

The grant will be used to develop the project using professional sound and graphic designers and then exhibit the prototype.

“I’m delighted to receive this grant, not just because it will help the project, but also because 90% of those who are chosen are from the top ten universities,” said Mr Holden.

The CD-ROM will tie in with a book Mr Holden is to publish next year on the same theme.
