A journalism student had the chance to quiz one of the country’s most famous politicians during his placement with an East Midlands radio station.

Chris Harris, a first year at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside, met the Rt Hon William Hague MP at the Nottinghamshire showground where the Leader of the Opposition launched his party’s road transport policy.

Mr Hague was questioned about current transport policy and explained his ideas to improve the situation. “The interview took place among many other newscasters in what was quite a frenzy of activity,” said Chris.

Chris was on a work placement at Century 106 based in Nottingham and edited the interview which was broadcast several times during the day.
